Glasgow Chemical Biology Network

The biomedical research environment in Glasgow is truly unique in the UK with all molecular and biological sciences represented within the city which are fully integrated with the medical and veterinary sciences across a number of institutions. Logistically, these are closely located such that research contacts and student mobility can be conveniently established and maintained. Research pooling within the city through WestCHEM (Chemistry) and SULSA (Biological Sciences) provides the framework to deliver integrated multidisciplinary research ventures at the chemistry-biology interface in topics of importance to the UK landscape. Based upon these opportunities has initiated the Glasgow Chemical Biology Network which brings together these communities to facilitate and enable research interaction. Publications have already started to emerge from new collaborations established through this network (see Biochem. J. (2013) 453 doi:10.1042/BJ20130481).
